Victorian Witches Heart Brooch c.1900
A stylish late Victorian double witches heart brooch.
Perfectly detailed with red enamel, each witches heart has a pearl set to the centre and a border of seed pearls. Often given as a betrothal or wedding gift, two entwined witches hearts were seen to protect the receiver from harm and represent a comitted relationship.
The entwined hearts sit on a 'knife edge' bar with natural pearl details. The brooch is in fabulous condition.
The brooch has a sprung pin and a closed end to protect the brooch when worn.
