A classic Royal Naval Crown brooch.
This beautiful diamond set sweetheart brooch in the form of a Naval crown, is finely set with brilliant cut diamonds with the accentuates the diamonds in their setting giving the brooch a bright appearance.
The brooch has a roller safety catch to the reverse keeping it safe when worn.
This would have been made for a Naval officer to give as a gift to a loved one to signify that the giver was in the Navy and to promote patriotism.
Sweetheart brooches have been popular since the early 20th century and were given to wives, mothers and girlfriends by servicemen as mementoes and reminders of the absent loved one. They were worn to show pride in having a sweetheart who was serving his (or her) country.
They were made for every budget, from base metal to platinum and designs were made for every aspect of the military.
