Art Deco Jade & Diamond Necklace c.1930
An elegant Art Deco jade necklace.
This beautiful piece has has a finely carved Art Deco green jade panel suspended from a fine diamond and pearl section attached to a platinum fettler link chain with its original bolt ring.
The jade panel has carved decoration with fruit and leaves to each side. It is a fabulous rich green in colour.
Jade was a popular choice for Art Deco jewellery following Cartier's extensive use of the stone in the early 1920's.
The gemstone is revered in Chinese society where Confucius praised jade as a symbol of righteousness and knowledge. In Chinese culture Jade is customarily thought to influence health and prosperity, and ward off negative energy.
