Art Deco Jade Drop Earrings c.1930
An elegant pair of Art Deco jade drop earrings.
These stylish earrings have beautifully carved pale green oval jade panels suspended from a long art deco bar set with a rose cut diamond. They are suspended from pearl set hooks.
The hook fittings are for pierced ears and the articulated drop moves freely when worn.
Jade was a popular choice for Art Deco jewellery following Cartier's extensive use of the stone in the early 1920's.
The gemstone is revered in Chinese society where Confucius praised jade as a symbol of righteousness and knowledge. In Chinese culture Jade is customarily thought to influence health and prosperity, and ward off negative energy.
