Edwardian Diamond Drop Earrings, circa.1920

SKU ER266

£4,950.00

A stylish pair of Edwardian diamond triple drop earrings.

These elegant earrings have three graduated old-cut diamonds, each mounted in a rubover setting with a platinum milgrain edge.  The diamonds are all individually set within an outer platinum-faced circle, which gives the illusion that they are all larger stones.

The earrings have sprung hook (sleeper) fittings for pierced ears.  The setting is open to the reverse and the diamonds are individually articulated so that the earrings have a lovely movement when worn.

This style of earring is known as 'dormeuse' after the French popularised the setting at the end of the 19th century. This setting could be left the ear overnight hence the word 'dormeuse' or 'sleeper.'

These earrings are perfect for everyday wear.
