Edwardian Black Opal Necklace c.1915
A wonderful black opal is the focal point of this stylish Edwardian necklace.
The black opal is cut in a flattish cabochon oval and is finely mounted allowing the beauty of the stone to be seen from each side. The opal has a wonderful play of peacock blues and a good 'fire' when moved from side to side.
The opal is simply set in yellow gold and hangs from a fine double bar suspended from a pearl set top. Each section is articulated allowing the pendant to move freely when worn. The necklace has a fancy fine fettler link chain with the original bolt ring.
