An unusual Edwardian chrysoberyl cats eye ring.

This stylish ring has a central cats eye stone in a rubover setting with 3 small diamonds in a spitch setting to each side.

The ring has a grooved bezel and a plain shank. It is very low set to the hand and in fabulous condition.  The Edwardians often used more unusual gemstones like this in their rings following on from the Arts & Crafts movement which celebrated the unique nature of gemstones.

Chrysoberyl Cats Eye is a highly prised form of the Chrysoberyl mineral. The cats eye effect is caused by light reflecting off parallel inclusions with the stone. This effect is known as 'chatoyancy.'

Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920

Measurements:  The head of the ring is 8 mm in diameter

Ring Size: J 1/2 (UK), 5 1/4 (US), 50 (EUR) This ring can be resized by our goldsmith but with limitations due to the design
