A quirky Edwardian Fox stickpin.
The gold foxes head has ruby eyes and a realistically textured face. The fox is of hollow construction typical of the era and has a good solid pin attached. The pin was made by Cropp & Farr.
Founded in 1917, the London based jewellers created beautiful jewellery throughout the 20th Century, each bearing their maker’s mark ‘C&F’. Cropp & Farr had a variety of eye-catching designs but typically featured figural renderings, floral sprays and textured gold.
The fox could be converted to a ring or pendant/charm if required.
Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920
Measurements: Pin 5.1cm in length, Fox 12 mm in length, 9mm at widest point, weight 2.9 grams
Hallmarks: Stamped C&F with indistinct date mark (1920) to pin
