Edwardian Gold Monkey Brooch c.1920
A quirky Edwardian gold monkey brooch.
The brooch has 3 monkeys sitting on a branch representing 'hear no evil', 'see no evil' and 'speak no evil'. The brooch is realistically figured with the gold textured to represent the fur and the bark of the branch.
This lovely brooch was made by Alabaster & Wilson, a Birmingham company who were well known for their novelty jewellery. It has a gold pin and a safety clasp to the reverse.
