Georgian Amethyst Mourning Ring c.1830
RG065
£0.00
A beautiful late Georgian amethyst and enamel mourning ring.
This stylish ring has a facetted table cut amethyst set to the centre within a border of black enamel. The enamel is offset with a gold border engraved with a foliate design. The ring has 'split' shoulders and a closed back typical of the Georgian era. The ring is in fabulous condition but with wear to the facets of the amethyst consistent with its age.
This ring, in common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces is a dress ring and will not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old. Rings of this age and in good condition are increasingly hard to find.
Era: Georgian, 1714 - 1837
Measurements: Head of ring 11.7 mm in width. The ring weighs 3.2grams
Ring Size: Q (UK) 8 1/4 (US) 58 (EUR) This ring can be resized but with limitations due to the design
Hallmarks: Unmarked - tests 18ct gold
