Georgian Chrysolite & Garnet Ring c.1800
A beautiful Georgian chrysolite and garnet ring.
This pretty ring has 3 bright and well matched yellow chrysolites set in a shamrock design with small garnet accents. The head of the ring has a beautiful beadwork outer border and is set within scrolled foliate design shouldersonto an engraved shank. At some point this ring has been sized up considerably and the back section is plain. As such this lovely ring can be sized with limitations. The ring is in beautiful condition.
Chrysolite is a term long referred to for the yellow variety of olivine (peridot).
This ring, in common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces is a dress ring and will not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old. Rings of this age and in good condition are increasingly hard to find.
