Georgian Ruby & Emerald Ring c.1800
A beautiful Georgian ruby and emerald ring.
This unusual ring has old cut rubies and old cut emeralds in a stylised cluster design to the centre within ruby set shoulders. The main cluster has two spaces incorporated giving a lightness to the design. All the stones are in a closed setting typical of the late 18th century. The ring has beadwork designs to the edges and is closed set typical of 18th century rings.
The split design shoulders have handmade foliate carved detailing onto a beautiful reeded shank. This lovely ring is in excellent conditon and is a wonderful example of a Georgian ring.
This ring, in common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces will not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old. Rings of this age and in this wonderful condition are increasingly hard to find.
