Pearl Clasp - Charles de Temple c.1960
An unusual gold pearl set clasp by Charles de Temple.
The clasp with a heavily textured gold finish is mounted with a pearl to one side in a typical Charles de Temple setting.
The clasp (for a single row) has a hook style catch which is hidden when closed, this also acts as a safety device.
A pioneering figurehead of the 1960s modernist movement, Charles de Temple is one of the influential designers bringing bold and abstract jewellery to forefront of fashion.
