Rolex Precision Coin Edge Wristwatch c.1958
A fabulous Rolex Precision Coin Edge watch c.1958.
The original face of this wonderful vintage watch has a sympathetically restored silvered dial. Original gilt 'dauphine' hands, applied gilt numbers and rolex crown. Original gilt sweep seconds hand. Outer black seconds track. Rolex crown under '12'.
Face signed ROLEX PRECISION.
The manual Rolex 10 1/2 ligne movement has been completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected and rebuilt by our specialist watchmaker.
The ‘Coin Edge’ case, case-back and bezel are all in excellent condition with no marks or dents. The outside of the rounded case-back is unmarked and has never been engraved. The yellow gold watch case is of high quality, having been made for Rolex by David Shackman & Sons in the UK. Shackman were one of two English case-makers used by Rolex, the other being Dennison & Co.
The case is of three-piece construction with a press fit case-back which fits and clicks back. This is an early 'Coin Edge' design watch - these are getting increasingly hard to find in excellent condition.
Watch onto new black leather Hirsch strap.
