Victorian Silver & Gold Bangle c.1880
A fabulous oversized Victorian silver and gold cuff bangle from the Aesthetic era.
This wonderful unusual bangle has an engraved checkerboard design to the front with textured squares alternating with floral engraved squares. This is overlayed with a gold heart and arrow design.
The heart has a floral spray made from 2 colour gold to the centre. This romantic design is so stylish and has a contemporary look despite being over 140 years old. It is quite simply the best bangle we have ever owned!
The cuff is plain on the underside typical of the era but with engraved details to both hinged edges. There is a hinged section to the middle with a hidden tongue clasp enabling it to be easily worn on the wrist.
The bangle is in excellent condition and is a fabulous example of late Victorian jewellery. It is much larger than the usual examples from this period.
