Victorian Silver & Gold Wide Foliate Bangle c.1880
£0.00
An elegant late Victorian silver and gold bangle.
This beautiful cuff style bangle is made in silver and has a gold overlaid design to the front.
The overlay has two bands of rose gold and a delicate pattern in yellow and rose gold of morning glory flowers and leaves within an engraved design. The background is textured and there is further detailing to both edges. The back of the bangle is plain.
In the Victorian meaning of flowers, morning glory flowers signify love, affection or mortality as they bloom and die within a single day.
The bangle has an integral hinge and a hidden tongue with a good firm closing mechanism keeping it safely on when worn. The bangle is in lovely condition. The front is in perfect condition with only very minor 'wear' to the reverse in keeping with a piece of this age.
Perfect to wear on its own or as part of a 'stack' this beautiful bracelet is truly 'wearable art'
