Art Deco Amethyst Violets Brooch c.1940
A fabulous large carved amethyst and diamond floral brooch.
This elegant brooch is designed as a bunch of violets and has 5 carved amethyst 'violet' flowers each set with a small diamond to the centre with 2 beautifully carved 'leaves' made from green nephrite jade with a wonderful mottled appearance to the base.
The brooch is finely set with gold 'stems' and is a wonderful example of this type of brooch which was popular in the late 1930's and through the 1940's.
The brooch is Austrian in origin.
