Art Deco Raymond Yard Diamond Brooch

Art Deco Diamond Brooch - Raymond Yard c.1930

SKU: BR222
£7,950.00Price

A fabulous Art Deco diamond brooch by Raymond Yard.

The typically Art Deco open panel design has a large old cut diamond to the centre within a geometric openwork stylised bow design set with diamonds. The diamonds are all finely 'grain' mounted within a rubover setting with a milgrain edge. The brooch is open to the reverse and has chenier detailing to the low set underbezel.

The design of the brooch has a beautiful 'negative space' allowing the fabric to be seen through when worn.

The brooch is finely made with a typically 1930's hidden safety clasp to the reverse.  It is in wonderful condition and very wearable.

Raymond C. Yard is considered one of the great American Art Deco jewellers. Using only the highest quality gemstones and the most exquisite platinum mountings, the company designed jewellery that took on an identifiable style of their own, and elevated the Art Deco aesthetic to a new level.

Typically, 'Yard' pieces of the late 1920's were diminutive, monochromatic with minimal accents of colour, rectilinear with solid exterior outlines and simple geometric decorative patterns.
