Regency Gold Chain c.1820
An early 19th Century gold chain necklace.
This beautiful late Georgian chain is made up of a series of intertwined decorated gold oval links each with textured decoration. The links are curved and plain to the interior typical of the era.
The chain has a beautiful highly decorated elongated octagonal barrel shaped clasp deorated with green cabochon turquoise stones. This has a tongue type fitting and is in great condition.
The chain is probably a section from a much longer guard chain. Genuine original chains of this era are increasingly hard to source. It is unmarked and tests as high carat (18ct) gold.
