Georgian Jade & Pearl Ring c.1820
An unusual Georgian gemset band ring.
This elegant ring has an oval carved jade panel set within a fine seed pearl cluster border. The cluster is applied to a wide beautfully engraved band with raised outer edges. The ring is beautifully made with an acanthus leaf engraved motif. It is in fabulous condtion.
The ring has an engraved cypher to the inside at the back with the initials MS in italics.
We belive this unusual ring may well be a Regency Colonial piece (possibly from the Far East?).
In common with the vast majority of Georgian pieces, this ring, is a dress ring and will not take 'heavy' wear being over 200 years old.
Rings of this age and condition are increasingly hard to find.
