Georgian 'M' Agate Fob Seal c.1810
A stylish Georgian Regency fob seal.
This beautifully made fob has a wonderful carved fluted design across all panels. It has a large loop as it would have originally been suspended on a guard chain. The main part of the fob is hollow, typical of the era.
In the Georgian era fobs were worn as a decorative and useful accessory. The seal would have been used to stamp a person's crest, initials or image in sealing wax on important documents.
The seal is pale agate engraved with 'M' in script. The fob is in fabulous condition.
