Kochert Penguin Brooch c.1950
An unusual and quirky carved penguin brooch
This stylised design is typical of the animal and bird jewellery from the 1950's. The penguin is realistically figured from carved chalcedony (a blue-ish form of quartz) and set with a cabochon ruby as an eye and 18ct gold wings, beak and feet. The brooch is beautiful quality and in wonderful condition.
The brooch was made by Kochert who are one of Austria's premier jewellers.
