Victorian Cabochon Garnet Signet Ring c.1869
£2,250.00
An unusual Victorian garnet signet ring.
This stylish ring has an oval cabochon almandine garnet to the centre within a gold outer border. The head of the ring has a finely engraved scalloped design with a polished chevron details to the shoulder and further finely chased and texured goldwork to the tapered shoulders. The shoulders flow into a plain shank.
The ring is made in 15ct gold and is fully hallmarked for 1869
The ring sits low to the hand making it comfortable to wear. We believe this gorgeous ring is in almost as new condition and has barely been worn since it was made in 1869. There are some restrictions when it comes to sizing as the head of the ring is almost certainly hollow as was the method of construction of this style of ring.
