Victorian Silver Buckle Bangle c.1898
A fabulous late Victorian silver buckle bangle.
This great bangle has a stylised 'buckle' piece applied to the top. The top half of the bangle has an intricate cross hatched and X design set in a checkerboard pattern. The reverse is plain, typical of bangles from this period, there is a faint engraving visible at certain angles to the reverse - we can't make out the wording as has mostly worn away.
The bangle is hinged with an integral clasp and its original safety chain (we can remove this if required). The buckle design represents “loyalty, strength and protection.”
This stylish bangle is in wonderful condition with no dents or dings.
