An unusual Victorian banded carnelian locket ring.
The ring is set with a quatrefoil shaped banded carnelian with the white section to the top revealing a thin band of red cornelian to the underside. The stone is set in gold band and is open to the reverse.
The ring is made in 18 carat gold and is fully hallmarked for 1865.
The ring has tapered shoulders decorated on a tapered shoulders with arrow motifs which flow onto a plain wide shank typical of the era. It sits low to the hand making it comfortable to wear.
Era: Victorian 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Head of ring 1.45cm in length, 1.2cm in width, it weighs 3.2 grams
