Edwardian Chrysoberyl Cats Eye & Diamond Ring c.1910
A stylish Edwardian cats eye & diamond 3 stone ring.
This unusual ring has a chrysoberyl cats eye to the centre with an old cut diamond to each side.
It is very low set to the hand and in fabulous condition. The Edwardians often used more unusual gemstones like this in their rings following on from the Arts & Crafts movement which celebrated the unique nature of gemstones.
Chrysoberyl Cats Eye is a highly prised form of the Chrysoberyl mineral. The cats eye effect is caused by light reflecting off parallel inclusions with the stone. This effect is known as 'chatoyancy.'
