Victorian Garnet Heart Locket c.1870
£1,950.00
A stylish late Victorian garnet locket.
This elegant pendant has a central pear-shaped cabochon almandine garnet to the front with a foiled setting to the reverse. The garnet is mounted within a stylised heart pendant with a circular glazed locket compartment to the reverse, with a silk liner. The locket has beautiful chased floral engraving to both sides.
The locket is in great condition and would be beautiful as a pendant or charm. It might have originally been hung from a snake pendant or bracelet, as this was a popular design at the end of the 19th Century.
It has a gold runner ring to the top for a chain or ribbon. It does not have a chain, but we can provide one if required (at an additional charge).
