A beautiful late Victorian opal set heart locket.
This stylish pendant has an oval cabochon opal mounted in a raised rub over setting onto a chased heart-shaped locket . The locket has a glazed compartment to the reverse with a silk liner.
The locket is crafted in a beautiful buttery yellow 15 carat gold and is suspended from a gold trace link chain with a bolt ring fitting.
It is in great condition.
Era: Victorian, 1837 - 1901
Measurements: Pendant 2cm (3/4") in length, 2cm (3/4") at widest point.
Opal weight estimated 0.80 carats.

Hallmarks: Necklace with no assay marks - tests as 15ct gold
